Privacy Policy

This policy explains what BuildWithGuru ("we", "us") does with information collected through buildwithguru.com. We have tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at buildwithguruweb@gmail.com.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you send an enquiry or a website preview request, we receive the details you enter: your name, business name, business category, city, phone or WhatsApp number, email address, existing website, a description of what you need, and optional budget, timeline, design style and contact preferences.

Information collected automatically. To limit spam and abuse, when you submit a form we store a one-way hash of your IP address, which cannot be turned back into the address, together with your browser’s user-agent text (the short description of your browser and device). We do not store your raw IP address with your enquiry. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs that include IP addresses.

Analytics. This site uses Google Tag Manager, which loads on every page. It runs the measurement tools we configure in it, such as Google Analytics. These tools can receive information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your device and browser, your approximate location and how you found the site, and they may set cookies. We do not currently show a consent banner before it loads. You can block it in your browser settings or with a content blocker, and the site works without it.

Why we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and discuss your project. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form.
• To prevent spam and abuse of the forms, which is a legitimate interest in keeping the site working.
• To understand which pages and enquiry options are useful, so we can improve the site.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising profiles. We contact you about your enquiry, and we do not add you to a marketing list without asking.

Where it goes

• Our server. Enquiries are saved in a private location on our web server, outside the publicly accessible folders.
• Email. A copy is emailed to our business mailbox. Email is processed by our email provider.
• WhatsApp. If you choose to message us on WhatsApp, the conversation takes place in WhatsApp and is governed by WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
• Google. Google Tag Manager, and any measurement tool run through it such as Google Analytics, receives usage data about your visit.
• Spam protection. We may use a service such as Cloudflare Turnstile on forms. If we do, it processes technical information about your browser to tell people from bots.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need to respond and follow up. Enquiries that do not lead to a project are reviewed and deleted after about twelve months. If we work together, we keep project records for as long as the relationship and our legal obligations require.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Under applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you also have the right to raise a grievance. Email buildwithguruweb@gmail.com and we will respond. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. The site works without analytics.

Security

We limit the information we collect, store it away from the public web, validate and clean what is submitted, and limit repeated submissions. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send passwords, card details or other sensitive information through the forms. We will never ask for them.

Children

This website is for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date above.
