Website redesign

Redesign Your Website Without Losing What Already Works

A redesign should fix what is wrong without breaking what is right. We start by finding out which pages already bring visitors, how the site behaves on phones and what slows it down. Then we rebuild around those facts and plan the launch so search visibility is protected.

Who this is for

  • Businesses whose website looks dated or does not match the brand any more.
  • Owners whose site is broken, cramped or slow on mobile.
  • Companies that have outgrown a simple site and need better structure.
  • Anyone who wants a new look but cannot afford to lose existing Google traffic.

It looks old and feels untrustworthy

Outdated design signals an outdated business, and visitors judge quickly.

It breaks on phones

Layouts built before mobile mattered are awkward to read and to tap.

You fear losing your rankings

Changing URLs and content carelessly can make existing traffic disappear overnight.

Nobody remembers how it works

Years of patches, abandoned plugins and edits leave a site that is risky to touch.

Protecting your search visibility during a redesign

The biggest avoidable redesign mistake is changing URLs without redirects. Old links, bookmarks and Google results then lead to error pages, and the site loses whatever visibility it had built.

Before designing anything we record the current pages, which of them receive search traffic where we can see it, and which URLs must carry over. After launch we check that redirects work and that Google can still crawl the new site.

No one can promise that rankings stay exactly as they were. Content, structure and speed all change in a redesign, and some movement is normal. What we can promise is a plan that avoids the preventable losses.

  • A page inventory of what exists today.
  • A redirect map from every old URL that matters to its new home.
  • Titles, descriptions and headings carried over or deliberately improved.
  • A pre-launch check that the new site is not blocked from search engines.
  • A post-launch review of crawl errors in Google Search Console.

What you get

  • Review of your current site: structure, mobile behaviour, speed and content
  • A recommendation: improve what you have, or rebuild
  • New design direction agreed before development
  • Mobile-first rebuild on WordPress
  • Page inventory and redirect map
  • Staging site for review before launch
  • Launch checks and post-launch monitoring

Evidence before design

We look at how your current site performs before deciding what to change.

A safe launch

Redirects, indexing checks and staging reduce the risk of a damaging go-live.

A site you can maintain

We replace the patchwork with a clean structure that is easy to update.

How it works

5 clear steps, so you always know what happens next and what is expected of you.

Start the first step

  1. Review

We examine the existing site and agree what must be kept.

  2. Recommend

You get an honest view on whether to refresh or rebuild, with a written scope.

  3. Design and build

New design approved first, then built on a staging site.

  4. Redirect and test

We map and test redirects, and check search settings.

  5. Launch and monitor

Go-live, then a review of crawl and indexing reports.

We have not published a redesign case study yet, and we would rather say so than invent a before-and-after. Ask us about the approach and we will walk through it with you.

Frequently asked questions

Will my Google rankings drop after a redesign?

They can move, and nobody can promise otherwise. We reduce the preventable risk with a redirect map, careful handling of titles and headings, and post-launch checks.

Can you redesign my WordPress site without starting over?

Sometimes. We review the code and plugins first. If the foundation is sound we refresh it. If not, we recommend a rebuild and explain why.

Can I keep my current domain and hosting?

Usually yes. We build on a staging copy and switch over when you are happy.

How long does a redesign take?

It depends on the size of the site and how quickly content and feedback arrive. We give a timeline in writing after the review.
