Terms of Service
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms cover your use of buildwithguru.com and the website design and development services provided by BuildWithGuru ("we", "us"). For each project we also agree a written proposal. If the proposal and these terms differ, the proposal applies to that project.
1. Using this website
You may browse this site and send us an enquiry. Please give accurate information and do not misuse the forms, attempt to disrupt the site or send unlawful content. The content here is for general information and is not a contract or a binding offer.
2. Demonstration concepts and portfolio
Projects labelled Sample design are original designs created to demonstrate a possible website experience. They are not real client work, and any business names, people and details in them are fictional. Projects labelled as real are our own products or work we are permitted to show.
3. Proposals, scope and quotes
Every project begins with a written proposal listing the scope, deliverables, exclusions, timeline and payment milestones. Work beyond the agreed scope is quoted separately, and we do not start it until you agree. Prices shown on this website are starting points, not final quotes.
4. Payments
Payments follow the milestones in the proposal, typically a deposit to begin, a payment at design approval and a balance before launch. GST is added where it applies. We may pause work if a payment is overdue. Costs paid to third parties, such as domains, hosting and premium licences, are separate from our fees unless the proposal says otherwise.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide the content, images and information we need, in good time. Delays can move the launch date.
- Make sure you have the right to use everything you supply, including text, photographs and logos.
- Give timely feedback within the agreed revision rounds.
- Keep your own account credentials secure.
6. Revisions
Each package or proposal states the number of revision rounds. A revision round is a consolidated set of changes within the agreed scope. Requests that change the scope, or additional rounds, are quoted separately.
7. Timelines
Timelines in a proposal are estimates that depend on you providing content and feedback promptly. We will tell you early if we expect a delay.
8. Ownership and licensing
When final payment is received, you own the bespoke design and the content created for your site. Third-party themes, plugins, fonts and images stay under their own licences, and we will tell you which are used. We keep the right to reuse general know-how and non-confidential components. Unless you ask us not to, we may mention the project in our portfolio. We will not publish confidential information.
9. Maintenance and support
After launch, each package states a period during which we fix defects that we introduced. Ongoing maintenance, updates and content changes are separate, optional services agreed in writing.
10. No guarantees of results
A website can support your business, but we do not guarantee sales, enquiries, search rankings, traffic or any particular result. These depend on factors outside our control, including competition, your offer and how the site is promoted.
11. Third-party services
Websites rely on services we do not control, such as hosting, payment gateways, email services and WhatsApp. We are not responsible for their availability, changes or fees.
12. Confidentiality
We keep confidential information you share with us private and use it only to deliver the work.
13. Ending a project
Either of us may end a project by written notice. You pay for work completed up to that point. Refunds of deposits depend on the progress made and are set out in the proposal.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the fees you paid for that project, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory rights you have.
16. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Questions: buildwithguruweb@gmail.com.
